THE 3RD ANNUAL DRUM FESTIVAL
Cuyahoga Falls, OH – Drum roll, please! George’s Drum Shop, Cuyahoga Falls, announces its Third Annual Drum Festival will be held Saturday, July 29, 2006, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., at the Falls River Square Amphitheatre and Pavilion, in downtown Cuyahoga Falls. Covering two blocks, a variety of exciting events and many unique attractions will appeal to the general public, including an 11:00 a.m. parade, a drum set solo competition, “World’s Fastest Drummer” contest, an all-day hand drum circle, local bands, celebrity drummer performances, ethnic drum group performances and a drum show featuring exhibits and demonstrations by manufacturers, vintage drum collectors and custom drum builders.
One of the largest drum shows in the nation, the free event is a fun visual, aural and tactile experience. Promoter and drum shop owner George Lawrence says, “This event is not just for drummers, but for civilians [non-drummers] as well. It’s a hands-on festival for the whole community. We like to encompass music and musicians in general.”

10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. – Drum Show exhibits and demonstrations in the Pavilion

10:00 a.m. until sundown – Huge drum circle at the “pit,” anyone can play, drums provided
11:00 a.m. – Parade through downtown Cuyahoga Falls from Falls High School to the Amphitheatre (We are currently seeking more parade participants!)
Noon until sundown – Four plaza band stages: performances by amateurs of all ages, semi pros and pros   (We are currently seeking more bands!)
Noon - 6:00 p.m. – Drum set solo contests and “World’s Fastest Drummer” contest in the Amphitheatre
7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. – World-famous drummers and name bands perform on the Amphitheatre stage
All day at the fountain – Water fun with percussion toys… kids bring swimsuits!
All day – area shops, bars and restaurants will be open with jazz bands performing at the Cashmere Cricket Restaurant

Drum set players of any age can compete for prizes of drum sets, cymbals and drum accessories. Even non-drummers can compete in the “World’s Fastest Drummer” contest and win raffle prizes.

Calling all amateur, semi-professional and professional musicians, children and adults alike! We are currently taking applications from bands of all kinds who are interested to perform at the festival, from rock, jazz, country and gospel to alternative groups.  We also are currently seeking more parade participants, from the sublime to the ridiculous!  Sales and information booths are currently available as well.
